The veteran Pakistani fast bowler Wahab Riaz has picked four semi-finalists for the ICC Cricket World Cup 2019.
When asked who was favorite to win the World Cup, he replied "Obviously according to me Pakistan is favourite to win the World Cup. Bowling has been the concern for them but the way batting has clicked in last few matches, it's a great sign for Pakistani fans. Pitches in England now a days are batsmen friendly but I am confident that Mohammad Amir and Co. will do a lot better in the mega event.
He picked Pakistan, England, Australia and India as the four semi-finalists of ICC Cricket World Cup 2019. Last time these four teams played semi final of the World Cup was back in 1987. The tournament was held in India and Pakistan.
Wahab Riaz further added " We have always performed brilliantly in England during mega events. If you go to the past, we won ICC Champions Trophy 2017 and ICC T20I World Cup 2009 in England. So I am confident that Pakistan is going to win the World Cup this time."
Wahab Riaz has not been included in the World Cup squad but he is following men in green closely. Pakistan will play two warm-up games on 24 and 26 May against Bangladesh and Afghanistan in Cardiff and Bristol respectively. They will officially kick start their World Cup campaign against West Indies on May 31.
