Wahab Riaz Withdraws From Quaid-E-Azam Trophy
Wahab Riaz has withdrawn from Quaid-E-Azam trophy which starts from September 14, 2019 and decided to take an indefinite break from red-ball cricket. He took his official twitter handle to inform the fans and media about his decision.
After a lot of thinking and discussions with my family and board, I have decided to take a break from red-ball cricket and maintain my fitness and focus on the shorter format for my country. I Want To Concentrate On White-ball Cricket: Wahab Riaz
Wahab is more optimistic about concentrating on white-ball cricket but, he has not retired from test cricket. He said that he would keep checking his fitness for red-ball cricket. His decision of taking an indefinite break from red-ball cricket was to prolong his white-ball career.

He was to represent Babar Azam-led Central Punjab Side in Quaid-E-Azam Trophy 2019-20. His absence will affect Central Punjab's bowling unit.
Wahab Riaz stated that he was in discussion with PCB on this matter; however, Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) took some time to admire his decision. He thanked Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) for understanding and accepting his decision.
When asked about his plans regarding red-ball cricket, he replied," During this period, I will focus on 50-over and 20-over cricket and continue to access my fitness for the longer version of the game. At a stage I feel I can't only return to red-ball cricket but also perform well, I will make myself available."
