Sri Lanka cricket board confirmed that the Sri Lanka tour of Pakistan will go ahead as planned after the government of Pakistan assured the Sri Lankan government to provide the desired security to the visitors.

Sri Lanka Tour Of Pakistan Will Go Ahead As it Was Planned: SLC

Sri Lanka cricket board has confirmed to visit Pakistan as it was planned before. The government of Sri Lanka and SLC security consultants were satisfied with the security plans presented by the Pakistani government and Pakistan cricket board (PCB). 
According to the website Pakpassion.net, Sri Lanka Cricket Secretary Mohan de Silva," We have the green light from the defense ministry. The tour is on as we planned. Earlier, the Sri Lanka cricket board requested their government to 'reassess' the security situation in Pakistan after they received the information of a possible terror threat on the Sri Lankan cricket team during its visit to Pakistan from a reliable source.
The rumors were around that Sri Lanka might quit their trip to Pakistan after the information passed through the Prime Minister office.
The stand-in skipper, Lahiru Thirimanne, expressed satisfaction after reviewing the security plan during their visit to Pakistan. He said that he was ready to tour Pakistan and their focus was on cricket but not security.
 Sri Lanka will play three ODIs and as many T20Is in Pakistan from September 27 to October 9. Earlier, ten Sri Lankan cricketers including their Test and ODI skipper Dimuth Karunaratne, T20Is skipper Lasith Malinga and the seasoned campaigner Angelo Mathews, refused to tour Pakistan over security concerns.
Niroshan Dickwella and Thisara Perera were also among those ten cricketers who refused to tour Pakistan.
Sri Lanka cricket then took a bold step to deny the No Objection Certificate (NOC) to Perera and Dickwella for Caribbean Premier League (CPL) 2019. 
Young Dasun Shanaka and Lahiru Thirimanne were given the captaincy of T20I and ODI respectively.
Pakistan cricket board ( PCB) along with the security departments of Pakistan is struggling hard to improve the security situations in Pakistan. They have promised to provide president level security to the visiting Sir Lanka team. 
Australia cricket officials also visited Pakistan on September 17. They assessed the current security situations in Pakistan.  Is hoping to host Australia for series in 2022. 
Cricket Australia officials also expressed satisfaction with the security arrangements in Pakistan and said that they would want the cricket to return to Pakistan as possible.

Sri Lanka Tour Of Pakistan 2019  schedule

Sri Lanka is scheduled to tour Pakistan for three T20Is and as much ODIs. 
Sri Lanka cricket team will arrive in Karachi on September 25. They will play three ODIs in Karachi on September 25, 27 and October 2. Three T20Is will be played on  5, 7 and 9 in Lahore.
