September 4, 2019: Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) appointed the head coach cum chief selector and bowling coach for Pakistan Cricket team for next three years.

Misbah Ul Haq Appointed the Head Coach and Chief Selector By PCB
Pakistan cricket board officially announced today that they had appointed Misbah Ul Haq as Pakistan cricket team's head coach cum chief selector for next three years.
Misbah was the most definite contender for this post along with Mohsin Hassan Khan, Dean Jones and Waqar Younis. He was selected by Pakistan Cricket Board among all other big names.
Regarding Misbah's appointment, PCB Managing Director Wasim Khan said," Exciting times are ahead for the national cricket team, which will feature in World Test Championship, T20 Asia Cup 2020 and back-to-back ICC T20 World Cups in 2020 and 2021. Pakistan Cricket Board has no doubts that under his guidance and vision, the team will perform strongly and, will succeed in transforming our talented players into World Class performers."
Waqar Younis Appointed As Bowling Coach By PCB
Another former test captain, Waqar Younis, has been appointed as bowling coach by Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB). The board officials firstly appointed the head coach, and then, after discussing the matter with the newly elected head coach, they appointed bowling coach for three years period.
Regarding Waqar Younis's selection as bowling coach, Misbah Ul Haq said," I am excited to once again have someone as experienced and knowledgeable as Waqar Younis with me as a bowling coach. We have exciting young fast bowlers in our ranks, and there is no better person than Waqar Younis to transform them into modern era greats." He further added," We have some of the most talented and exciting cricketers, and I will like to help them train, and prepare them in such a way that they can play smartly, intelligently and fearlessly."
Remember that Waqar Younis has served Pakistan cricket team as head coach in 2011 and his relationships with most of the senior players have not been good. We will have to wait and see how he helps these young Pakistani fast bowlers to improve their abilities.
Is It A Wise Decision To Give Dual Role To One Single Person?
Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) decided to give the dual role of the head coach and Chief selector to former test captain Misbah Ul Haq. Now the question is that, will this be beneficial for Pakistan Cricket or will it prove to be too much burden on a single person? Misbah Ul Haq and other PCB officials think this will be a successful move to provide a comfortable environment inside the dressing room but, some of the former cricketers believe that the head coach should not be given extra burden to carry with. Well, Misbah looks quite delighted with this new trend in Pakistan cricket board, and he is excited about this new challenge. Future will decide that where does Pakistan cricket stand after this bold step.
