Guyana: Star Pakistani leg-spinner Shadab Khan and Australian off-spinner Chris Green inspired Guyana Amazon Warriors (GAW) to 13 runs win over St Lucia Zouks (STZ) in Caribbean Premier League (CPL) 2019.

Shadab Khan and Chris Green Inspired Guyana Amazon Warriors To Win

Shadab and Chris Green bowled superbly while defending the below-par total in Guyana. Shadab Khan bowled four overs and picked up three wickets for just 16 runs. Chris Green bowled four overs for 28 runs and picked up two wickets. The Australian off-spinner also scored 28 runs off only 15 balls with two fours and a six.

Guyana Amazon Warrior's captain Shoaib Malik won the toss and opted to bat 1st. GAW openers, Brandon King and C Hemraj, returned to pavilion inside first six overs for the scores of 7 and 14 respectively. In the middle overs, Skipper Shoaib Malik (28) and Hetmyer (24) provided some solitary in the middle-overs. Later on, K Paul (38) and Chris Green (28) finished the innings with power-hitting to take their score to 155/9 in 20 overs. For St Lucia Zouks (STZ), Obed McCoy picked up four wickets for 41 runs in his four overs.
In the chase, None of the STZ batsmen looked comfortable except Cornwall. He struck some lusty blows before departing for 34 off just 14 balls. After Cornwall's wicket, it was only one-way traffic for Guyana Amazon Warriors (GAW), who restricted St Lucia Zouks (STZ) to 142/9 in 20 overs. Shadab Khan was brilliant with the ball along with Chris Green and Romario Shepherd. Shadab Khan picked up three wickets for 16 runs, while Shepherd and Green shared two wickets each, Ben Laughlin picked one scalp. Guyana Amazon Warrior's Chris Green won the man of the match award for his superb all-round show. He scored 28 runs off just 15 balls and bowled four overs for 28 runs and picked up two crucial wickets.
