Sri Lanka Agrees to play 2 Tests in Karachi
It has been ten years since Pakistan played test cricket in their home grounds. After the terrorist attack on Sri Lankan Cricket Team in 2009, Pakistan have hosted only Zimbabwe and West Indies along with World XI on their own backyard. Security has been issue for long time to host international cricket in Pakistan.
PCB and Pakistani Government have tried their level best to bring the game back to Pakistan but unfortunately they have failed to win the faith of most of international teams and respective boards.
Recently Pakistan Cricket Board invited Sri Lankan Cricket Board to play 2 match test series in Pakistan. SLC Board replied positively and sent their security team to assess the current security situations in Pakistan.
The security delegation reached Karachi on 6 of August and had a great view of the security plans by Sindh government.
After reaching back home SLC’s honorary Secretary-General Mr. Mon De Silva said: "We had a useful session with IG Sindh, Home Secretary. They have some strong plans which have impressed us. Pak and SL keep close relations, we're looking forward to having some good news regarding this tour"
Role of PSL in bringing cricket back to Pakistan
The things started to go in the favour of Pakistan as they launched their T20 Franchise league known as PSL (Pakistan Super League) .
1st edition of Pakistan Super League was entirely held in UAE but after that PCB shifted the event to Pakistan. Every year the number of foreign players visiting Pakistan increased hugely. Now the Pakistan Cricket Board has officially announced that the entire 5th edition of Pakistan Super League will be hosted in Pakistan.
Now with the news that 'Sri Lanka agrees to play 2 Test in Karachi' the Pakistani fans are hoping that the cricket returns to Pakistan with its full flow.
